Asbestos Supervisor (Initial)

Course Description:

This course is designed to provide comprehensive training for individuals seeking an Arkansas Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor license through Arkansas Asbestos Worker license through the Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment, Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ).

The course prepares contractors and supervisors to oversee asbestos abatement activities while maintaining safe work practices and regulatory compliance.

Topics include asbestos health effects, respiratory protection and PPE, work-site preparation and containment, engineering controls, decontamination, cleanup and disposal procedures, air-monitoring concepts, employee protection, recordkeeping, legal and regulatory responsibilities, and supervision of asbestos-related work.

Learning Outcomes:

• Students will apply regulatory requirements and accepted safety practices when planning, supervising, and documenting asbestos abatement activities
• Students will demonstrate appropriate procedures for PPE, containment, decontamination, air-monitoring considerations, cleanup, waste disposal, and oversight of asbestos-related work

Attendance is mandatory for the entire course to receive a Certificate of Completion.
